How inflation is still showing up in yacht prices for the super-rich

Bloomberg Línea reports that Brazilian shipyards raised prices of yachts, motorboats, sailboats and jet skis by about 7% in the new boating year, according to a survey TCP Partners carried out at the outlet's request. Ricardo Jacomassi, TCP partner, recalled that in 2020–2022, with pandemic-driven demand, increases reached 20%–30%, and attributed the current easing to a weaker dollar and stable prices for steel, aluminum and polymers. TCP also projected that recreational boat production in Brazil will nearly double between 2019 and 2025, from 4,500 to 8,600 units (a 13.7% compound annual growth rate).
