Climate change becomes a new business niche
O Globo
O Globo shows how extreme weather, from floods in Rio Grande do Sul to droughts in the Amazon, has led companies such as Vale, CCR and Auren to hire consultancies and weather data to plan operations and reduce risk. A TCP Partners study estimates the global weather-forecasting market at about US$3 billion a year, growing 5.3% annually through 2030; in Brazil it would rise from R$122 million (2022) to R$230.5 million, 8.3% a year. Ricardo Jacomassi, TCP partner and chief economist, said companies that anticipate the financial impact of climate events can measure risks and protect jobs and infrastructure.
